Topic: The Modular Era: Unpacking the Revolution in DA for Rollups
On the 25th of January, Yuvank Soni, Developer Advocate, Zeeve, hosted the X Space AMA. The guest speakers for the session were Mary Liu, Strategic Partnerships, Celestia, and Dr. Ravi Chamria, Cofounder & CEO, Zeeve. Here’s an excerpt of the discussion.
To start with, Yuvank presented the introduction to the session and yielded the stage to Mary and Dr. Ravi for their respective introductions. For the first question, Yuvank asks Mary to talk about Celestia in detail. For this, Mary mentions that Celestia is a DA platform that makes modular chains more affordable and other essential details. Following this answer, Dr. Ravi shares that Zeeve is a Rollup as a service platform, and it has been providing node ecosystem services.
Yuvank asks Mary, “Could you provide an overview of how modular blockchain architecture is facilitating a revolution in data availability (DA) for rollups?” Mary answers by tracking back in time to the scalability trilemma of blockchain, mentioning that Celestia decouples blockchains, and following through to answer the question.
“What considerations should businesses make when adopting modular rollups to enhance DA in their blockchain operations?” is the next question posed to Mary, and she avers that the core considerations are cost and security and that Celestia provides a fully decentralized solution. Dr. Ravi adds by saying that ease of integration is also a core consideration.
Yuvank asks Dr. Ravi the next question, “Why is external DA important for Rollups?” Dr. Ravi answers that if builders choose Ethereum as the layer to build on, the cost would be extremely high, which is why external DA layers are important for Rollups. He dives deeper into the same answer.
“How has Zeeve’s Rollup as a service platform helped Celestia since DA integration?” is the next question Yuvank asked. Dr. Ravi answers this question by stating that the construct of RaaS is to help deploy and manage your own rollups with the help of our RaaS stack, which would otherwise be extremely complex and expensive. That is the whole point of Zeeve RaaS, which helps set up an enterprise-grade network for your specific use case.
